Drill Prototype testing on soil

The flaws

We then tested the drill in water to see if it is able to spin underwater, we found out that the drill was not displaced properly as the 3D printed drill and the 3D printed drill pod was floating in the water as seen in the picture below. This is because the drill pod and the drill infill was not 100% and only 15%.

A new Drill

We then 3d printed a 100% infill drill and tested it on a soil sample,

there was no picture of the testing because we forgot to take picture but there is a picture of the soil sample that we tested the drill on.

It was a success as now the drill is able to drill in to the soil underwater but we realized that the gap between the drill pod and the drill is too close which caused some soil to be trapped in between.

We will then try to make an extension of the drill so that it will be able to drill deeper into the soil.
